It is with great pain that we are denouncing the abuse of power of the Dominican Immigration towards mothers for being foreigners. As a mother, we feel shame and sadness for Haitian mothers when we see them discriminated, rejected and expelled while seeking medical assistance in hospitals. Because of xenophobia they take away from these poor women the right to get a respectful and dignified medical care as it should be for any human being. Seeing those defenseless women being deported while they are still pregnant, breaks our hearts. The Dominican Republic has fallen very low, so low that pregnant women who are in a vulnerable condition are now being deported, how awful! this shameful act has no name, and sadly showing the world how the country has completely lost his humanity, there is no regard for pregnant women and neither compassion for babies and children. What a shame that the Director of Migration is without respect for human dignity and moreover they put the physical integrity of the pregnant woman and the life of the baby at risk. There is no worse humiliation than that. Attacking a pregnant woman is the worst abuse ever existed. Would it not be logical to ask if the Director of Migration had a mother? Where are the immigration policies of this country going? We know that the immigration law empowers the authorities to deport illegal immigrants, but the same regulations of that law expressly prohibit not detaining pregnant women or minors. This intolerant government often blames immigrants to cover up its corruption and celebrate hate speech and mistreatment of immigrants in the media in the name of sovereignty. This is why the population has developed a resentment towards immigrants and looks at them negatively with anger, hatred and contempt, now this evil administration is attacking Mother, when they attack a mother, they attack life, because the Mother is Life, no matter what her nationality, origin or culture, that is why today we invite all mothers of the DR and all over the world, with all the women's and children's organizations to ask the presidency eliminate this aggressive and cruel measure against women, ask immigration to stop chasing pregnant women it's outlawed, help those women to have a temporal permission with a provisional ID number only for the purpose of paying health taxes relating to maternity because they are vulnerable, they are women, mothers like us and we share the same pain. For the respect of Life and pregnancy, pregnant women should not be deported in any circumstances, they deserve to be treated with dignity and humanity because Women are the mother of humanity. For that reason, Women and Mothers from all over the world join us now and invite others to stand against racism and ask any government on this planet to respect pregnant women and Life. Let's get together to stop them from humiliating pregnant women, help us to stop the abuse now! With this international movement we should prevent a new Trujillo (dictator) from rising in our country or a tyrant like Hitler from any part of the world.
